Convection Oven and 45,000scfm RTO for a Paint Curing Application in a Metal Finishing Operation

The Challenge

A Metal Finishing Operation needed a new system for the curing of painted metal parts and eliminate the byproduct VOC emission stream.

The Solution

Epcon was awarded the contract to supply a very unique, conveyorized high-velocity Convection Oven, designed for an operating temperature of 600 °F with a PLC-based control system to ensure uniform curing of the painted metal parts. In addition 45,000 SCFM 2-CAN RTO was installed to destroy the hydrocarbons coming from the Conveyorized Paint Curing Oven, and miscellaneous other sources. The system achieves 98% + DRE (Destruction Removal Efficiency).

The Results

The mobile Thermal Oxidizer unit not only destroyed all the toxic VOCs, but provided the flexibility required by the site remediation demands. Additionally, the design and control features provided the necessary controls for ease of safe operations.
