EPA Finalizes First Ever Rule to Promote Transparency
“Today’s action is perhaps the biggest change in administrative procedures in a generation and one of the five pillars of EPA reform under President Trump,” said EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler in his final rule of President Trump’s Executive Order 13891, Promoting the Rule of Law Through Improved Agency Guidance Documents. “This historic rule guarantees the transparency the public deserves when engaging with the agency. This is a massive step forward for EPA bringing these legal documents into the light.”
EPA guidance portal provides public access to over 9,000 guidance documents for the first time, published to promote transparency by ensuring all active guidance documents are readily available and ensure clarity existing obligations, not a vehicle for implementing new, binding requirements on American businesses.
