Product Overview
Controlled Atmosphere Brazing Furnace
A Controlled Atmosphere Brazing system utilizes uniform precision and solid-state induction to braze conductive materials with in a tightly controlled atmosphere. The unique relationship balance of time, temperature, and atmosphere in a Control Atmosphere Brazing (CAB) furnace provides a brazing environment that was previously only possible in a vacuum furnace. The CAB process has several steps including thermal degreasing, fluxing, drying, brazing, and cooling.
Controlled Atmosphere Brazing (CAB) using a noncorrosive flux, is the preferred process for manufacturing aluminum heat exchangers such as radiators, coolers, condensers, and evaporators in the automotive industry. However, due to the unique process benefits, the Controlled Atmosphere Brazing (CAB) process is rapidly finding new applications in aerospace, industrial, power plant, and HVAC manufacturing. The benefits of custom designed CAB furnace are ease of maintenance and cleaning as well as the ability to process products at lower capital and operating costs. Parts stay clean during processing in the oxygen-free environment, so additional applications of flux and/or acid cleaning baths are eliminated from the process. This also reduces wastewater produced, as well as the handling and disposal hazards and fees associated with additional process chemicals. A continuous, Controlled Atmosphere Brazing furnace is the most economical means for brazing components in larger volumes.
Epcon is an industry leader in continuous process furnaces with 45 years of experience engineering and producing some of the most reliable and high-performance process heating systems. Our engineers custom design and manufacture your Controlled Atmosphere Brazing (CAB) Furnaces all in house, to ensure the performance and stringent quality standards are always met.
