Laminating Ovens

Laminating is the industrial process of bonding two or more pieces of material together to create a new and different material. Laminating can be done on a wide array of materials, such as fabrics, foam, particle boards or MDF, vinyl, paper, glass, and PVC, and is a critical step in the manufacturing process across several industries.

Commonly found in automotive, textile, and glass industries, laminating ovens are used to create a stable fusion between various materials or layers of materials. The laminating process involves high temperature infrared heat and chemical reactions.

For lamination to take place, heat may need to be applied to one material, both materials and various mechanical rollers and presses custom designed to create a uniform product. The result of laminating produces increased durability and protection.

Another type of laminating often used in the adhesive industry is dry laminating. This technique involves bonding two or more strips of a flexible backing material, such as films, papers, or foils and adhesives mixtures dissolved in solvents. After the adhesive is applied the various layers are bonded together with heat and pressure to create a final lamination.
